Altimeter/Transponder System Maintenance and CertificationAltimetry Devices – Regulatory Requirement CAR Standard 625, Appendix C –Out of Phase Tasks and Equipment Maintenance Requirements Altimeters and other Altimetry devices Shall be inspected and calibrated at intervals not exceeding 24 months, in accordance with CAR Standard 571, Appendix B. Altimeters and other Altimetry devices installed in aircraft under IFR (Instrument Flight Rules, or under VFR (Visual Flight Rules) in Class B and C Air space or Class C and D Airspace that is designated as “Transponder Airspace” shall be Inspected and Calibrated. Altimetry Devices include:
(ATC) Transponders – Regulatory Requirement CAR Standard 625, Appendix C –Out of Phase Tasks and Equipment Maintenance Requirements Air Traffic Control (ATC) Transponders Shall be inspected and tested at intervals not exceeding 24 months, in accordance with CAR Standard 571, Appendix F. ATC Transponders, including any associated altitude sensing reporting mechanism were installed, such as Altitude Encoders. |
